Father's Day

This is the photo we gave Daddy for Father's Day this year.

14th Anniversary

Drew and I have been married for 14 years now.  I can't believe it's been that long.  He sent me two dozen roses and a box of chocolates.  He's always doing wonderful, thoughtful things like that.  I love him very much and am grateful for him.  I can't imagine a better person to share my life with.

Farewell Tea Party

Mia's wonderful friends Hanna and Makenna are both moving to Europe so we decided to throw a surprise tea party for the two amazing girls.  We wanted to make it as much like the American Girl trip we had two years ago, as possible.  Jen did an AMAZING job putting it together.

 She even got them these beautiful  matching necklaces so they can always remember each other.  She's really gone to miss them.

Jailhouse Rock

Mia's Final Dance Recital was today. She performed a jazz dance to "Jailhouse Rock" and it was adorable.  Here's a photo of Mia after the show with three of her dear friends, who were also in the class, Katelyn, Aspen, and Makenna (who is moving tomorrow morning - so sad!).

 Here's a photo of the girls with Hanna, another friend, who is moving on Monday.  Mia has the most amazing friends, so it's really hard to see them go.

 I was lucky enough to get a babysitter for the three little kiddos, so I could enjoy the show without any distractions.  Afterwards I took Mia to dinner and ice cream.  It was such a fun Mother Daughter date.

Expander

Poor Mia and her crazy teeth.  Mia has 6 permanent teeth.  Two on top, and 4 on bottom.  Unfortunately her top teeth are struggling to come in, because there's just no room.  You can see that one of her front teeth is overlapping the one next to it.  That baby tooth isn't even loose yet!!!  So we went to the orthodontist and he recommended an "expander" to widen her top palate, which is in serious cross bite.  So poor thing was able to get it installed on the LAST DAY OF SCHOOL.  Not after school, mind you.  BEFORE school.  So she was lucky enough to spend her last day struggling to speak, and trying to keep from drooling on herself.  

Mia has had it for the past few days and she's finally getting used to it.  She still struggles when she eats, but it's getting better.  Every night I get to crank it with a key, which pushes her teeth further apart.  Good fun!  It will still be a while before she gets braces, since she has so many baby teeth.  But at least this is a start in prevented some of the issues she could have in the future.

Spaghetti Luke

Final Soccer Game

On June 4th, Cole and Mia had their final soccer game.  Cole's was at 9:00 in the morning, and Mia's at 12:45, so that meant a day dedicated to soccer.  Cole did amazing on his final game.  He tried his hardest and played the best he could.  I was so proud of him.

Ella sat in the stroller most of the time, because she loves to "take off" when she gets the chance.

Poor Luke was fine that morning, but as the game progressed, he developed a fever.  He just laid on the blanket, refusing to move.  I felt so bad for him.

After the game, Cole received a medal and certificate, and poor Luke had to suffer through the awards ceremony.  By the time we got home he was in bad shape.  By lunch time it was clear that we were not going to be able to go to the afternoon game.  And we weren't able to find a ride for Mia, so she didn't even get to play in her final game.  I felt awful, but not as bad as Luke did, so I guess we had no choice. But Mia was a really good sport about it.  I'm super proud of her for that.  That night was the Chugg's farewell party, and we had to miss that as well.  I was really bummed, but it was for the best.
