Preschool Graduation (sort of)

Luke had his Preschool Graduation at the end of May.  Well, it wasn't really a graduation because he's going to preschool again next year, but it was a fun way to celebrate his accomplishments this past year.

 The kids were adorable in the homemade t-shirts.  And they did an incredible job of singing their songs and showing the parents exactly what they learned throughout the year.

I think the funniest part was when Luke discovered that he had a bunch of balloons floating behind him, and began punching them while the teacher was talking.  So, of course they moved the balloons halfway though the ceremony.  Luke's our little wild man, for sure!

He won the award for "Scissors".  Way to go Luke.  He knows how to cut well, apparently.  

We love his preschool and are so thankful to his teachers for all their hard work in taming our little wild man.  Nice job, Luke!

Solar Eclipse

On May 20, we were lucky enough to see our first ever Solar Eclipse.

 We didn't have any special glasses to view the event, so we went with the "pin hole" technique for viewing it.  You just cut a hole in a piece of card stock.  Attach a piece of foil and poke a small pin hole in the foil with a push pin.  Then you hold the two papers a couple of feet apart to see the progress of the eclipse.

If you look carefully you can see the crescent shaped sun on the back piece of card stock.  

Then i just tried to take a photo with my camera and it turned out really well.  Lowest possible ISO, Fastest shutter speed, and highest possible aperture.  This was the result.  I think it looks pretty awesome!

When the moon was completely in front of the sun, the colors outside were so strange.  It was like the sun was on dimmer.  No clouds in the ski but seemed cloudy.  It was pretty cool!

 
Mia and I ran over to the Allred's to see their cool technique.  Five pairs of sunglasses on top of each other.  You could see it perfectly!  Here's Aspen showing it off.
